29 Jun The Ministry of humanitarian affairs – MoHADM and a large delegation consisting of members of the Office of the President and the Prime Minister delivered two food aid planes to Elwaq district of Gedo region.
The Minister of humanitarian affairs and Disaster Management – MoHADM Hon. Khadija Mohamed Diriye and a large delegation led by Senators, members of the Office of the President and Prime Minister, members of the Independence Day organizing committee and the Director General of the Ministry of Relief and mm today traveled to Elwaq district in Gedo region in fulfillment of the order of the President JFS Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud
Elwaq district is one of the districts most affected by the drought in the country, especially the state of Jubland
The delegation led by Minister Khadija delivered two aid planes as part of our assistance to our brotherly governments of Qatar and the UAE to alleviate the impact of the drought on the people and the environment as well as to reach the vulnerable people affected by the drought.
Minister Khadija noted that the drought relief efforts will continue in accordance with the orders of the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, HE Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, and will mark the country’s Independence Day.
